Wall Street Journal quotes me, I finally "made it"
Growing up when I traveled with my dad on business trips, he'd read the paper (more often than note) over breakfast with me. For several years, I worked with him at various county fairs in California (including the State fair a few times) and so we ate out for 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, for up to three and a half weeks at a time. The paper he read was The Wall Street Journal. So I've always had a "soft spot" for that print publication, even though dead tree media is rapidly fading and Dow Jones is now owned by News Corp.
Still, the prestige is there for me and I'm sure for a lot of other people, as well. So imagine my surprise when (last month, as it happens) FunAdvice got a mention in the Journal, as well as yours truly getting a quote...I have no illusions: I'm not a celebrity.
However, getting quoted in the Wall Street Journal is a feeling I simply can't describe, and I'm very grateful (even if the article, on the whole, bashed q&a sites...but that's another story).
It's not my doing, I'm just the messenger. So...thanks to the FunAdvice team, the advisors, and especially Jack, who was nice enough to pass along the referral to the reporter when she was looking for a source for a story.
BTW...if I can do anything for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Drop me a note via fun mail, or use the contact form.
